WORLD YOUTH SKILLS DAY: IMO STATE TO SUPPORT ANOTHER 500 YOUTHS IN FILM MAKING AND DISTRIBUTION

The Office of the Imo State Governor on Skills Acquisition and Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Imo State Chapter, have agreed to work together towards a successful July 15 commemoration of the World Youth Skills Day, and the commencement of training and empowerment for the second batch of Hope Film Skills Project 2K.

It would be recalled that the first batch of 500 youths in Imo State were successfully engaged in practical film-making, acting, and movie distribution; from July 2021 to December 2022 when that phase of the project was completed. As a result, 500 Imolites drawn from various ancillaries of the Nollywood film industry became gainfully engaged and projected through fair-budget movies produced in Imo by the pan-African Juicy Biz Entertainment Company, led by its Managing Director, Mr. Innocent Nwobu. The state government through the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Skills Acquisition, Hon. Chidi Onyebuchi appreciates Mr. Nwobu for his efforts, and will award him special recognition at the end of the project.

This is in keeping with His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma’s vision and commitment to massively provide digital and non-digital skills opportunities that create jobs for the youth of Imo State; and to appreciate public private partnerships that help to achieve the goal.

The Skills Acquisition Bureau working with the Actors Guild of Nigeria Imo State Chapter as the parent body of Nollywood practitioners will commence the second batch 2-year-round phase of the project on July 15 as part of activities to commemorate the World Youth Skills Day 2023. Juicy Biz Entertainment has again indicated their readiness to execute the Hope Film Skills Project 2K Phase II and to empower another 500 Imo up-coming filmmakers, actors and distributors.

In the project’s first phase, several films were produced by Mr. Innocent Nwobu’s Juicy Biz Entertainment in Imo State including the epic thriller “Tanaka”, “Against the Throne”, etc. Through them, 500 Imo youths were trained and featured in different film production departments. They were handsomely remunerated and projected on screens and film market places across the globe.

Mr. Innocent C. Nwobu from Awka in Anambra State is a businessman, film producer, writer, farmer and humanitarian. His business interests which are primarily based in Nigeria and Ghana span across movie making and distribution, publishing, farming, real estate, and beauty products.
